23. Season End Playoffs, Tournaments, Festivals

The NCJLA hosts events for each division in the month of May. In order for teams to participate they must meet the annual scheduling appendix requirements, the specific division requirements listed in the Operations Guide, have a valid roster and no other possible sanctions listed in the NCJLA by laws, policies or operations guide. There is no additional fee to attend these events once a team has registered with the NCJLA and paid the annual fees however TEAMS MUST RSVP for the event. The link to RSVP will be sent by the NCJLA Boys and Girls Directors during the April Club Representative meeting and will be posted on the Club Administrators tab of the NCJLA website. Questions about your team’s NCJLA event should be directed to the Boys (boysdirector@ncjla.org) and Girls (girlsdirector@ncjla.org) Directors.

 

Boys and Girls End of Season

All HS Varsity, Junior Varsity and A levels

  • Must have a minimum of 10 games played during the regular season to qualify for playoffs.

  • Must have played all teams in conference at least once and two out of conference games to qualify.

  • Top 8 teams will be seeded and participate in a single elimination tournament for divisions with 12 or more teams.

  • For divisions with 11 or less teams, the top 4 teams will be seeded and participate in a single elimination tournament.

  • No consolation games for A level and HS teams that make playoffs once eliminated.

  • Should a division have enough teams for quarter and semi finals the quarter finals will be hosted by the NCJLA the Saturday before Mother’s day. Semi-finals will be the third Saturday in May and at the higher seeds home field, between 9-2pm and will have an NCJLA staff or board member present to act as the site administrator. Championships will be the third Sunday in May and hosted by the NCJLA.

  • Teams that do not make the playoffs will participate in a single elimination flighted tournament to compete for a Flight Medal. Flights will be in groups of 4 to 8 teams when possible. Since teams will play multiple games the game run times will be shortened so that games run on the hour.

  • For teams that make the playoffs, the final 1st and 2nd place teams will receive a medal of recognition.

  • For Boys and Girls HS varsity only the final 1st and 2nd place teams will be recommended to participate in the State Championship should there be one held for HS club level.

  • Seedings are calculated using an RPI formula, please see Statistics and Standings

     

    For All 14U-Bv and 12U-Bv (Veteran Levels)

  • Every team at these levels will be given an opportunity to participate in an end of season lacrosse Festival (2-3 games).

  • Must play each team in the conference at least once and meet all scheduling requirements to qualify to play in the end of season tournament.

  • Groupings will be based off of divisional standings on League Athletics and head to head play.

    For All 14U-Br, 12U-Br (Rookie Levels)

  • Every team at these levels will be given an opportunity to participate in an end of season lacrosse festival (2-3 games).

  • Must play each team in the conference at least once and meet all scheduling requirements to qualify to play in the end of season tournament.

  • Groupings will be based off of divisional standings on League Athletics and head to head play.

  • When no rookie division is available for that season the division will have the BV end of season format

    For All 10U-B and 8U levels

  • Every team at these levels will be given an opportunity to participate in an end of season lacrosse festival (2 games).

  • Must meet all scheduling requirements to qualify to play in the end of season tournament.

  • 10UB Groupings will be based off of divisional standings on League Athletics and head to head play.

  • Exception 8U: teams will play 2 games and no standings will be used to group teams.

  • Travel time will be considered when creating the game schedule.

    Boys and Girls Varsity All-Star Honorees

  • The Boys and Girls High School Commissioners coordinate the All-Star selection process. A detailed description of the All-Star selection process will be sent to coaches mid-season. Nominations are due April 30th via email to the corresponding commissioner.

  • Players will be recognized at the event for the first round of playoffs at the end of the season. All Star honorees receive a medal and certificate from the NCJLA.
