- How do I register my child to play lacrosse?Parents register players directly with their clubs. The NCJLA is the league clubs play games in.
- How can I find a club for my child to play lacrosse?Parents can review the club list or check the club map.
- Parents can also email the NCJLA Operations team for help with finding a club to play for.
- When are games and practices?Clubs schedule their practices. Games are usually on weekends. The season is February to May.
- What type of equipment does my child need to play lacrosse?USA Lacrosse Equipment Guide
- Most NCJLA clubs offer loaner equipment and the NCJLA offers scholarships to off set the cost of equipment. Check with your club before purchasing gear.
- What types of volunteer tasks are generally required of parents who do not coach or officiate?Score keeper, time keeper, field set up and break down, fundraising, etc.
- Check with your club to see what they need to make lacrosse happen! There is free virtual training for most volunteer roles.
- How can I volunteer to help my club administrators or the NCJLA Board of Directors?Apply using the NCJLA Board Nomination Form. The NCJLA is always looking for parents who have a passion to see the sport of lacrosse continue to be accessible to the youth of NorCal.
- What will I need to do in order to coach a team? (head coach, assistant coach, parent team bench volunteer or parent practice volunteer)USA Lacrosse Coach Membership (includes background check and 20 min Abuse Prevention Course)
- Sign the NCJLA Code of Conduct and Infectious Disease Waiver
- Complete CDC.gov or NFHS 20 min online Concussion Course
- Complete FBI and CA DOJ Background Check & AB506 Live Scan
- Who should I contact if I have an issue at a game or practice? If at a game you can contact the NCJLA at sir@ncjla.org or your club.
- If at a club practice please contact a member of your club leadership or the coach.
- What types of forms will be needed in order to play games?
- Parents and players are asked to sign the Code of Conduct forms prior to participating in any games. This form outlines the behavior that is expected in order for all participants to Honor the Game and Compete with Class. Codes of Conduct can be found here.
